Memorial Day: United for Heroes 7K Walk/Run benefitting UF Health Trauma One + Concert @ Unity Plaza


Join us on Monday, May 25 for Unity Plaza’s inaugural Memorial Day Celebration that includes a 7K Run, concert, great food, and lots of family fun!


 About the United for Heroes 7K:

Final Logo 1-20-15A 7K benefitting TraumaOne, the Area’s only Adult and Pediatric Level 1 Trauma Center.  UF Health Jacksonville, the home of our region’s only Level 1 Trauma Center, serves 30 counties in northeast Florida and southeast Georgia.  The unit provides life-saving care to more than 4000 trauma victims each year. What happens in the moments after an injury can make the difference between life and death. That is why the UF Health TraumaOne team works with local resources and agencies to ensure there are as many positive outcomes as possible. TraumaOne consists of five components -the Trauma Center, Flight Services, Communications/Dispatch, Trauma Prevention and Education, and Emergency Preparedness. Our qualified team consists of UF Health trauma surgeons, nurses, and other health care experts in areas such as neurosurgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthopedic trauma surgery and cardio thoracic surgery, to name a few, are available on campus 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

This race directly benefits UF Health TraumaOne of Jacksonville. Unity Plaza will be the backdrop of the start and finish. It will also be the post race location for the run’s after party.

All online registration fees are included in the amounts below:
SPECIAL PRICING of $17.00 for those 13 years old and under, college students 18-22, and those 65 years or older for the duration of registration.
$27.00 for early bird registration through April 25
$37.00 for registration between April 26 – May 21st at 3:00pm
Registration will be closed from 3:00pm May 21 through 3:00pm May 22nd for packet pickup.   Registration will not be available at packet pickup as it will re-open at 3:00pm on May 22nd.
$37.00 May 22nd at 3:00pm through May 24th at 5:00pm
$47.00 Day of Race – Cash or Check Only


Race Awards
Medals will be given to the top three males and females in the following categories,
Top 3 Male & Female Overall Finishers
Top Male & Female Masters (Over 40) Finisher
Top Three finishers in each of the following age groups:  10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65 & over.
Special limited addition hats will be presented to the top 25 overall finishers.

Race Amenities
Runners will receive a custom shirt and a goodie bag.

Race Course
The race starts 8:30am at Unity Plaza 220 Riverside Ave with a route along the beautiful waterfront of Jacksonville’s Northbank Riverwalk along the St. John’s River.

90 minutes to 30 minutes prior to the start of the race – Day of Race

8:30am – United for Heroes 7k takes place
15 Minutes after last finisher – Awards Ceremony
11:00am – Concert begins

Packet Pickup & Race Instructions
Participants may pick up their race packets and bibs on Friday, May 22nd, from 9:00am to 1:00pm at Unity Plaza.    Any participant picking up their packets and bib on Friday will still need to pick up their timing chip before the race on race day from 7:00am to 8:15am.   Chips will not be distributed prior to the morning of the race.
Runners may also pick up their race packets, bibs, and timing chip prior to the race at the check in area from 7:00 to 8:15am.

Chip Timing
The race will be chip timed using a shoe chip system.   Chips will be distributed at the packet pickup.   All runners must cross the mat at the finish line with their chip properly attached to their shoe to score in the race.  Chips must be returned at the conclusion of the race at the finish line.   Runners not returning chips will be charged a fee of $30.

Race Information
Race times and dates are subject to change without notice at any time for any reason. In the event the race time or date is changed or if the race is cancelled, for any reason, there will not be any refunds under any circumstances. In the event of bad weather every effort will be made to conduct the race, however it may be moved to an alternate date, time, or cancelled within hours of the starting time. Please be sure to check the PRS Race Timing website and Facebook page for updates prior to departing to the race for any last minute changes or instructions.
