Free Daily Yoga
commUNITY Yoga (all levels): Monday – Friday 5:30-6:45pm
Family Yoga: Saturday 8:30-9:45am (everyone welcome – all ages instruction provided)
Contemplative Yoga: Sunday 8:30-9:45am
Getting healthy in Jacksonville has never been easier. With 365 days of FREE yoga classes, Unity Plaza is on a mission to uplift the spirit of the community and eliminate the barriers of access to this life changing practice. Yoga is an excellent way to relieve tension in the body, clear chatter in the mind, and restore balance to the whole self. Combining gentle stretching with soothing words that encourage self-reflection, the UP Yoga classes will open your heart and tone your physique. Classes are suitable for all skill levels and ages.

- Chair Yoga for Seniors: Friday 10-11:15am
- Yoga Playtime for Kids (adult supervision required): Sunday 2:30-3:30pm
- Yoga Therapy: Wednesdays 4-5:15pm ($10 suggested donation – therapeutic class held indoors)
- Mommy & Me Yoga: Thursdays 9-10:15am
Mondays and Wednesdays @ 10am-11am | Cost: Free
Join us every Monday and Wednesday from 10-11am for a FREE Guided Meditation Class held in the new UP commUNITY Center presented by Jax Federal Credit Union. Meditation is an easy way to let go of stress and restore peace and balance to the whole body. Learning how to turn off the mind is the greatest gift you can ever give to yourself and will revolutionize every area of your life. The Unity Plaza free Guided Meditation Class utilizes a powerful technique known as the Amrit Method of Yoga Nidra. This free Introductory Talk reviews the benefits of the ancient, authentic Transcendental Meditation (TM) technique. It summarizes the modern research from over 250 independent medical schools and universities that shows that TM reduces stress, lowers blood pressure, and reduces cardiac risk while boosting mental alertness, creativity, energy, vitality, and wellbeing. Relaxing Into Life – Self Mastery Workshop Presented by the Amrit Yoga institute

We cannot always choose how life comes to us. The challenges we face, the way our loved ones behave, or the way things happen at work. We can develop tools to meet life in a way that optimally serves our own health, wellbeing and happiness and moves us into being in flow with life rather than constantly struggling with the current. Mantra, Movement, & Meditation Presented by the Amrit Yoga institute

What is it? The Mantra (chanting or music), Movement & Meditation is a beautiful technique that uses inward focus and sound vibration to ‘drop you in’ to stillness. It is designed to engage you so completely that ‘thinking, doing, and feeling’ are in co-creative harmony. It is holistic in its approach, unifying you in your ‘Being Presence’ so you can go beyond the limitations of the body and mind to connect with the Divine within. *Additional 2015 classes – June 17, July 19, August 19, September 16, October 21, November 18, and December 16. - In chanting mantra, the secret power hidden in the syllables of ancient chants carries profound meaning that is not to be understood intellectually but is revealed energetically and experientially. The mantra itself turns into merging meditation.
- Mantra chanting automatically restores fragmented attention and energy.
- When you combine music with mantra it turns into a celestial sound that touches your soul. Then it becomes both relaxing and therapeutic, as well as spiritually awakening.
- Chanting is not complete until it enters your heart, opens all your centers, vibrates every cell, banishes all boundaries of the body, and dissolves your mind into a flood of energy.
- The mystical power of chanting is its ability to invoke various energetic states that correspond to each chakra, which in turn activates the neuroglandular system.
