Join us every Monday and Wednesday from 10-11am for a FREE Guided Meditation Class held in the new UP commUNITY Center presented by Jax Federal Credit Union. Meditation is an easy way to let go of stress and restore peace and balance to the whole body. Learning how to turn off the mind is the greatest gift you can ever give to yourself and will revolutionize every area of your life. The Unity Plaza free Guided Meditation Class utilizes a powerful technique known as the Amrit Method of Yoga Nidra. Sunday, June 7,  National Cancer Survivors’ Day. Cancer survivors and their loved ones from all over the city are congregating on the green space of the Unity Plaza Amphitheater to celebrate “Flash Mob” style. At 2:00 p.m. exactly, everyone will “hug their survivor.” By “hug” we mean start the celebration any way you see fit. Hug, play music, bring out the balloons, break out the dance moves, however you’d like to celebrate that someone special. Please join us! Click here to register.

3rd Thursdays @ 6:30pm | Summer Date: June 18, July 16, August 20
This summer stay in shape and in touch with running through a fun new series at Unity Plaza, 220 Riverside Avenue.    Starting in May there will be one Thursday Night race on the third Thursday of each month, each a different distance, and each a different experience.   There will special bonuses and post race happenings each race for all participants as listed in more detail below. Click here to register.

Do you feel like you have a “busy mind?” We have about 24,000 thoughts daily scattering our attention. We are constantly worrying about things that we don’t actually even have any control over including things that haven’t happened, aren’t happening and will likely not happen. We call these thoughts “stories” versus what is actually happening.

Engaging in our unconscious thought patterns of past and future is how we lose most of our life’s energy. Normally, we live life mentally through our mind, rather than through the experience of feeling and being. We live what we think about life, rather than living life. In this workshop, you will learn the nature of your true Self and how to experience life directly. This is a process of shifting from the head to the heart as you learn to live from your feeling center and enter the state of being. This is a state of integration where life becomes a relaxed flow. Understand how we lose energy and vitality through the mind and learn to manage the mind and detach from thoughts and opinions that keep you from experiencing life to its fullest. Saturday, June 27 @ 5:30pm 
The JB Southern Oak 1 Mile Championships is back for its 2nd year.  The 2014 event saw some amazing fast times with a 4:05 men’s winner and a 4:59 women’s winner.  Can this year be even faster and better? We believe so.  The race will be run in multiple waves (see the wave registrations for wave information) giving runners the options to choose the wave that fits them the best.  Any pace, any ability, any age are all welcome as there is a wave for everyone. Click here to learn more and register.

Saturday, August 8 – Run at 8:00am with children’s festival to follow
A first-year 5K with a fun run/walk after the race.  We will be targeting child care providers, families of young children, and the traditional “runnings” community to participate. Funds will go towards improving and providing Early Learning programs in Duval County and engage and inform families with young children on early learning resources and information. Click here to register.
